Our Co-op Community
Enrichment Opportunities
We provide many enrichment opportunities beyond the Co-op classroom. We strive for monthly field-trips for our elementary students, as well as hang-outs for Junior and Senior high schoolers. Other activities may include service projects, missionary sponsorship, Entrepreneur Fair, Mom’s Night Out, Presentation Nights, Cotillion dances, fundraisers, yearbook, and more.
Extra-curricular events sponsored by Foundations HSC are subject to the policies and approval of Co-op. Participation in these events is not required for members, but we strongly encourage utilizing the opportunity to further build friendships and connections with other Foundations members. These bonds are pivotal in the success of our community.
Communication
We use the Band App to help communicate events and activities within our community. Any Foundations member is able to post about get-togethers or events that they want to attend with others. Please note: All activities that are not Co-op sponsored must indicate that information when publicized.
Committees & Clubs
We have several committees and clubs available for those who wish to enhance their co-op experience through service towards others. There are opportunities available for both Students and Parents:
Worship Team
The worship team is a special opportunity for students and parents to help lead our co-op in a time of worship during Opening each week. This team will guide our community in a worship song, creating a meaningful and uplifting start to our day together.
- Members will serve on a rotating schedule throughout the year.
- Arrival: Expected by 9:00 am on assigned weeks for practice.
This is a wonderful way to build confidence, develop musical skills, and be part of something that brings the community together each week.
A/V Club
The A/V Club is a hands-on team for middle school and high school students who are interested in the creative and technical side of production. Members will help run lights and sound during Opening, creating an engaging and smooth experience for everyone. The team will also design graphics for announcements, helping communicate important information in a creative and visually appealing way.
- Students will serve on a rotating schedule throughout the year.
- Arrival: Expected by 9:00 am on assigned weeks to help with setup.
Yearbook
The Yearbook Committee is responsible for capturing and creating a meaningful keepsake of our year together. This team will plan and execute the design, layout, and content of the yearbook, highlighting the moments that make our co-op special.
This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy creativity, photography, and storytelling, and want to help preserve the memories of our year for the entire community.
Elementary Field Trips
The Elementary Field Trip Committee helps create fun, engaging, and enriching experiences for our younger students. This team will plan monthly field trips that reflect the needs and interests of our elementary-aged families.
Members will research ideas, coordinate logistics, and organize details to ensure each outing runs smoothly and is enjoyable for all. This is a great way to stay involved, connect with other families, and help make learning come to life outside the classroom.
Middle and High School Hangouts
The Middle & High School Community Committee is focused on helping our students build strong connections and enjoy time together through shared experiences. This team will plan monthly outings that reflect the interests and needs of both middle and high school students.
Some activities will bring everyone together, while others will be tailored specifically to either middle school or high school groups to best serve each age level. Members will help brainstorm ideas, coordinate details, and create opportunities that foster friendship, fun, and a sense of belonging.
Events
The Event committee is a team for those who enjoy planning, organizing, and bringing people together. This group will help coordinate and support special events outside of our regular co-op day, creating meaningful and fun opportunities for our families to connect.
Members will work closely with the Board to plan event details and will also help with setup and teardown, ensuring each gathering runs smoothly from start to finish. This is a great way to get involved, collaborate with others, and play a key role in building connections throughout the year.
Fundraising
Fundraisers are held as needed during the year to supplement the Co-op’s general fund. Registration funds cover our monthly bills for facility rental and insurance, so fundraisers allow us to purchase or pay for items needed in a variety of areas.
- Examples include: Kitchen supplies, copies/toner, presentation nights, class supplies, core curriculum, equipment for re-use by teachers, and help with monthly bills.
The Fundraising Committee plays a key role in supporting our co-op by helping raise funds throughout the year for scholarships, special events, and other expenses, to keep costs as low as possible for our families.
This team will brainstorm creative fundraising ideas, coordinate and oversee fundraising events, and help rally others in our community to get involved. This is a great opportunity to serve behind the scenes while helping strengthen and support our co-op tangibly!
